Buswells Hotel, Dublin, Refurbishment

In the centre of Dublin City (opposite the Dáil) is the old-style very busy hotel, Buswells.  This hotel is famous as a meeting place for all political and government figures.

It is a listed building and there are preservation orders on the ornate plaster work on the walls and ceiling of the main reception and public areas of the hotel.  Mountainview were entrusted with the high specification refurbishment of 40 bedrooms, a kitchen and several public areas.

This major refurbishment of the hotel took place over the course of a 3 month period and at all times the hotel was fully operational.  Due to the location of this building we had to arrange deliveries to take place before 7am or after 6pm and due to the close proximity of Dáil Éireann, An Garda Síochána had to be issued with a delivery schedule at the start of every week.

The success of this project was due to careful and detailed planning and daily interaction with the hotel management and staff and also the dedication and flexibility of Mountainview’s staff and sub-contractors to work outside of normal working hours.

Mountainview successfully completed this project on budget and to specification whilst keeping the hotel operational at all times. The project was completed on time even whilst facing a challenging programme.
